Mountain Caribou are the biggest of the caribou species and our guiding area supports the strongest population in BC, with good genetics. Caribou can be found throughout the entire area on all types of hunts. The beautiful white manes and magnificent antlers on the big bulls are very impressive and each one is different and unique. These are resident Caribou, but are always on the move, this makes for an exciting hunt! We use the horses on most of our caribou hunts as they are found up high on the plateaus and mountain sides. Their season runs from August 15th – October 15th but we only take a small number of caribou each year to ensure we only take old bulls. In fact, more than half the caribou we harvest make the record book.
